Instagram automation: the official API versus bots

Two very different things are sold as Instagram automation. One is publishing your own posts through Instagram's official API, which is how large brands and every serious scheduling tool work. The other is a bot that likes, follows, comments and messages on your behalf to grow the account. The first is the intended way to run a business account. The second is what gets accounts restricted.

If you are handing an account to a tool or a service, this is the distinction to check first.

The official route

Instagram provides a content publishing API for professional accounts. A business connects its Instagram account to a Facebook Page, creates access inside its own Meta Business Suite, and a tool or service publishes posts, reels and carousels through that access. Meta documents it publicly in the Instagram Platform content publishing guide.

The bot route

Engagement bots log in as you, or use your session, and perform actions a person would: liking hundreds of posts, following and unfollowing accounts, leaving comments, sending welcome messages. The pitch is growth. The reality is that Instagram's terms prohibit exactly this, and detection is automatic.

Instagram's Terms of Use say you may not attempt to create accounts or access or collect information in unauthorized ways, including through automated means, and may not artificially collect likes, followers or shares.

How to tell which one you are buying

Ask where the access lives. Official: inside your Meta Business Suite, removable by you. Bot: your password, or a browser session on someone else's machine.

Ask what it does. Official: publishes posts you approved. Bot: interacts on your behalf.

Ask what it promises. Official: consistency. Bot: followers by a date.

What Ampliqa does

Ampliqa publishes through the official API from your own account, after you approve the month, and never automates likes, follows, comments or messages. The growth comes from posting well, every day, in your voice. See Instagram automation, run for you.

Questions

Questions people ask.

Is Instagram automation against the rules?

Publishing through the official API from your own professional account is allowed and documented by Meta. Bots that automate likes, follows, comments or messages are against Instagram's terms.

Can I get banned for using a scheduling tool?

Tools that publish through the official API from your own account are the intended route. Restrictions come from engagement automation and fake followers.

How many posts can be published through the Instagram API?

Meta currently limits API publishing to 25 posts per account in a rolling 24 hours, which covers any realistic business schedule.
